One of the focal points of the Roothub is to acquaint more people with what technology can do for them. This involves digital skills training which goes a long way in defining their career path, improving their business processes and simplifying life for them.
A lot happened for us at the Roothub this year.
We deliberately initiated our theme for the year “Go Forward” to onboard and engage more individuals with great ideas. There’s no better time to look back at the highlights of the year in community engagement, events, partnerships, team building, projects, products and also challenges
Moving to Uyo has been such a whirlwind experience for Emem, Marriage was good ,things ran smoothly when the first kid came too, till it dawned on her that her business of 3 years was suffering.

The class led by Francis Onuk was a chance for the designers to learn, unlearn and relearn accompanied by daily tasks and projects.
The fifth annual edition of StartConFest themed “Create The Future” was convincingly a newsworthy event. This 3-day festival organized by one of the foremost hubs in the Southern Region of Nigeria; The Roothub showcased 15 different eye-catching installations built by vibrant young people at the hub using their initiative to build creative things from scratch.
Tech 101 is designed to equip rural residents on various tech skills required to enhance businesses and acquaint participants with the knowledge needed to take advantage of these skills.
The guest speakers for the Roothub panel session were: Tony Onuk(Moderator), Enwongo Cleopas-Akwa, Ized Uanikhehi, Aniebiet Francis, Damilola Morenikeji and Hanotu Weli on SMW SouthSouthStories, hosted by The RootHub at Social Media Week Lagos 2019.
It’s International Day of Women and Girls in Science 2019 and lots of questions seem to be popping up: Is Science gender biased? Science really has no gender.
Registration for TECH101 February Edition has ended. Trainees are getting busy with tasks and group project, while interns are acting like genies granting their Tech wishes.
