The need for inclusion cannot be overemphasized if there's no digital inclusion there's a chance that many individuals and communities will be overlooked and excluded. These population will not only be missing out on the potential benefits of ICT but will also not be engaged in decisions related to digital initiatives within communities.

One of the focal points of the Roothub is to acquaint more people with what technology can do for them. This involves digital skills training which goes a long way in defining their career path, improving their business processes and simplifying life for them.

A lot happened for us at the Roothub this year.  We deliberately initiated our theme for the year “Go Forward”  to onboard and engage more individuals with great ideas. There’s no better time to look back at the highlights of the year in community engagement, events, partnerships, team building, projects, products and also challenges

Moving to Uyo has been such a whirlwind experience for Emem, Marriage was good ,things ran smoothly when the first kid came too, till it dawned on her that her business of 3 years was suffering.

The design team at The RootHub are on a 2 weeks drill on Brand and Product Design( Visual Communication) The class led by Francis Onuk was a chance for the designers to learn, unlearn and relearn accompanied by daily tasks and projects.

The fifth annual edition of StartConFest themed “Create The Future” was convincingly a newsworthy event. This 3-day festival organized by one of the foremost hubs in the Southern Region of Nigeria; The Roothub showcased 15 different eye-catching installations built by vibrant young people at the hub using their initiative to build creative things from scratch.
