The Digital Age
All over the world, children have rights to family, education, health care, innovative thinking, speech, and happiness.
Annually, children in Nigeria are celebrated on the 27th day of May, to express support, love, and interest in their well-being.
In sync with this celebration,
The Roothub Accelerator Systems launched a campaign tagged: #IAmDigital– aimed at educating children between the ages of 8 – 17 years on fundamental digital skills, technology, and digital literacy.
The #IAmDigital campaign is a part of the RootHub’s Tech101 project supported by Google to train 10,000 disadvantaged youths in rural areas of the Niger Delta on digital skills, its benefits and the application of digital tools/devices.
Digitalization influences basically what we think, feel and do.
It is recorded that children in the 21st century have been the highest users of technology.
This influences their educational learning pattern, family relationship, peer involvement, and societal adaptation.
The impact of technology on kids, as well as its disadvantages relatively differ.
However, seminars and conferences organized by Non- Governmental Organizations, corporate firms and private bodies (Unions) are beneficial to securing the present and future inclination of technology on the kids.
We believe this is an important moment to give back to our community, particularly to the younger generation.
In this regard, whether you work with children, train, and support or educate them; we would love to partner with you to grow a safe community of knowledgeable and responsible children.
Remember, children are the bedrock of any nation.
Let’s prepare for a digital future!
