Announcing the 1,000 Google Career Certificate scholarships for small businesses in SSA
New digital marketing and e-commerce certificate In partnership with the well-known open online course provider Coursera, we have designed an online professional certificate course in digital marketing and e-commerce for small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) and have made available 1,000 scholarships to Africans who desire to enroll. The certificate program is the most recent in a series of efforts targeted at preparing participants for entry jobs. Apply for the scholarship at g.co/grow/ecommercecertificate The 1,000 scholarships for the Google Digital Marketing & E-commerce Career Certificate will help small businesses across Nigeria, Kenya and South Africa learn how to leverage digital marketing strategies and e-commerce to sell online. Africa’s growing technology ecosystem offers opportunities to create digital solutions that make traditional ways of working more productive, while enabling the creation of new income streams and job opportunities. However, employers across the continent state that many job seekers do not possess the requisite digital skills, limiting employability prospects and business growth. The COVID-19 pandemic has also driven home the importance of digital tools and skills. In its wake, the most successful businesses were those whose operating model and employees could easily navigate the crisis and transition to digital service delivery. We appreciate your participation and are excited by the feedback we have received so far.The Google Career Certificates program is designed to prepare learners for an entry-level role in under six months. The certificates don’t have any prerequisites and are for anyone regardless of background or current occupation.
